Patience

October 7th, 2008

Welcome to the T.S.A.! I hope this post finds you doing well. We are going to be doing posts just like this for the site. Me and Connor will be rotating back and forth with posts. Today, we have decided to let Connor do the first post. So, here it is!

When you’re going through hard times and it seems like it will never end, you probably ask God questions like, “Why does it have to be me?” and “Can you at least give me hope that this will end?”  God has several reasons why He puts us through hard times.  One reason is to teach us patience.  True patience is trusting God in times when it seems like our life isn’t going anywhere.   God has called us to be patient and wait on Him.   Someone who is not willing to wait on God does not trust him.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant prayer.

Romans 12:12

I therefore, a prisoner for the lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:2

Paul was a very patient man, he was in prison for his faith but he still trusted God.  We are called to do the same.  Trust in God and be patient.

Something we can do to help us to be patient is pray, pray that God will help us to trust him.  God can see the big picture, we can’t, and he alone can see why we are going through hard times.  If He is the only one who can see it all, then he is the only one trustworthy to get us through these hard times.
